Who I am
My wife, our dog, and I have proudly called Waubaushene home for the past 11 years.
Many of you might know me from my recent nine-year term on the Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH) Board, where I started as our Tay community representative in 2017 and concluded as Board Chair in 2026. I focused on a simple goal: bringing better healthcare closer to home, reducing wait-times, and advocating for innovative solutions that provide access through more local resources.
As I move further into retirement, I remain a dedicated community engaged volunteer. I’ve stepped into roles on our Tay Seniors and Recreation Committees; still actively fundraising and advocating for our community through the GBGH Foundation and Guys Who Care. I am also president of the local Tannerville Property Owners organization.
When I’m not out with my camera supporting local events, speaking at events, or creating professional development content online, I’m focused on how we can keep Tay moving forward to embrace the future.
Why Tay Council
I am running because my passion is to be actively involved in community service organizations and committees where I live to listen, learn and identify problems that need solutions – then advocating and leading the change that drives actions. I would rather lead change, than be a victim of it.
My Top Priorities for Tay
Deliver The Expected Core Services & Infrastructure
- Maintain & upgrade our roads, water, transit and core law enforcement, fire & public services.
- Provide accessible spaces, facilities and services for healthcare access, transit and recreation for seniors, youth & families in all our communities.
Preserve Tay’s Character as We Grow
- Smart Growth: Encourage affordable housing development while modernizing bylaws to ensure they are flexible and innovative.
- Include Everyone: Managing growth responsibly while protecting our beautiful parks, trails, environment, Indigenous Communities and heritage.
Manage Fiscal Responsibility & Risk
- Protect Taxpayers: Build smart, balanced budgets that protect taxpayers while investing in our future in these uncertain times.
- A Strong Voice Beyond Tay: Foster strong relationships and advocate for funding and resources with local, regional, provincial and business leaders.
- Creative Problem-Solving: Build collaborative partnerships, where they make sense, to scale our capabilities and pivot quickly as economic conditions change.
Build a Strong Economic Future
- Actively explore innovative opportunities to attract investment and permanent or seasonal housing and employment (e.g. healthcare services, tourism/leisure, artisan communities).
Growth should strengthen Tay—not change what makes it special.
